    Hello,

I have a document that requires signatures from multiple signers. ALL signers have to sign the document.

After the last signer signs the document, I need to update a single “effective date” area in the document with the LAST signer’s signature date in order for the document to be valid from that date onward.

    How can I accomplish this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mike,

“Date field linked to the document’s status” feature is still an Enhancement Request, it’s currently as a Candidate but there’s no detailed ETA for this. I can create another ER for you and as long more clients are asking for this, it will accelerate the process.

At the same time, there are potentially few workarounds for this:
#1. if your workflow allows serial signing and can set a signing order for your signers, you can bind the signature date field for the last signer who would sign for this document.
#2. if you need sign in parallel, you can
set your sender as the last signer by setting all other signers’ index of 0 and sender’s index of 1
set a signature and a signature date field or a text field for your sender. (you can set signature’s size of 0 if you only want the field value, a signature field works if the effective date is not sensitive because there could be some lag between last signature and this automation process, a text field works when you want to set value yourself)
once all your signers complete their signing, you can programmatically update field and sign documents. How to trigger the completion of other signers depends on your application. If you embed the Signing Ceremony into your own portal, you can monitor the signing status from front-end notifier. If your signer get access to Signing Ceremony from Email notification, you can use callback listener to listen the “Recipient completed signing” event, and build your own logic to tell whether it’s your turn to run this process.

Please let me know which solution you want to follow and we can talk more on the details.

    Hope this could help!
